The Global Innovation Index
In 2007, I started pulling together my thoughts into a more broader, inclusive model of innovation that I termed as a global innovation index. The reaction was not a very happy one for the traditional, let's say, players in this area. But what helped me a lot was WIPO,. which is the world intellectual property organization, they adopted my model in 2010 and 2011. So today, it's used very, very widely in more than 100 countries around the world. And we, of course, cover about 130 countries each year.
