Shakespeare's Eye for Ecology

There was a comparable, of course, smaller scale than today, and different caused energy crisis in the 16th and 17th centuries. I think of Shakespeare as having a triple eye for these things. He observed there was a new limit to the consumption of resources. So all of these things, we think of ecology as being everything is connected. Well, Shakespeare had a keen eye for observing that the things were connected and also things were being disrupted and changing. It sounds familiar. These things sound very familiar, don't they? They're very familiar to the kind of energy supply and security problems and food security problems that we now are facing in our world.
