The Importance of Local Sentiment in Reducing Sexual Harassment
The conviction rate for sexual harassment in India is only 12%. The study found a 1.36 percentage point increase, which is non-trivial given that the conviction rates are only 12%. But how much of a dent will something like this make in the larger picture of reducing sexual harassment because now these cases are actually going to court and they're getting resolved? What is your hunch? Because I know this is difficult to measure.
