Every category is given a unique identifier, and these tags are stuck to uses as they go about what they do on line. And this intimate information is then systematically broadcast to what can be thousands of different parties through what is called real time bidding. That's ultimately the system that is used to sell advertising. I am tagged, no doubt, with a bunch of those, absolutely inevitably. Why is it shock? What did ye know about that? I didn't. It's totally nut."
