The London underground is run by a number of different companies and they're all kind of um syndicated together in a union. Every now and then that union calls a strike and when they have a strike that means that the underground network stops, basically London just falls apart. When there's a tube strike people can't get to work the streets are crowded and buses are full it's an absolute nightmare. trains are not very good because ultimately back in the back in the uh in the 70s certain investments were not made certain bad decisions were made which meant that train quality was poor.

It's common to experience some level of culture shock when dealing with the realities of living in the capital city as a foreign visitor.
