How India Compares to Other Countries in AI
Hassan Shahal is a researcher on AI and geopolitics. He says India has huge tech talent pool but needs to do more to train its future innovators. Despite high numbers of engineering students in comparison to the US, India produces less than one third PhDs compared to the US. This trend is due to a compendium of reasons, including weaknesses in its higher education sector coming from absence of sufficient research centers in most Indian universities.
