Jonah Lehrer says he was surprised by the diversity of people who worked at BuzzFeed, Gawker and other sites in that era. He said it felt like Barack Obama's election was culmination of this new wave of progressive online media. But when you go back to talk with those same people, they were mostly progressives as well, writes Lehrer. "I think what I sort of realized was like, oh, actually the real culmination of this period is the election of Donald Trump"
