A fetal protein, or a cervical lengthening score, is an indicator that you may be at risk to have a preterm delivery. So what we look at it as, it's a screener that can actually lead to some interventions and actions alerting your OB that you might be at risk. The resources are then gathered to both screen further, but also to have facilities and monitoring in place if you are going to go into preterm labor.
