Most people are able to pick up on an agenda. We don't like it when we feel like some one's actions are motivated by an agenda that we don't quite yet know what it is. Friendships and relationships are difficult as it is. When you bring this other layer of agenda into it, it's going to make things more complex. You cannot blame someone for having a problem with it and being like, i don't want to be your friend any more.
