Anthropology Was Born in the Shadow of Darwin
Anthropology was born in the late nineteenth century, and it grew up in the shadow of darwin. And i went through university at a time where activism and anthropology were almost intertwined. The issues of biological and cultural diversity struck us as being so essential that it was almost a immoral to not do what we could to share what we had learned in the public square. This is also cascaded into a kind of revisionist denial of the contributions of the early anthropologis.
