The Accident Aircraft's Gyro Switch
The first officer and the captain's attitude indicators are normally fed from different sources. If one doesn't work, you compare them. In the simulator, flip the switch to the left. The captains pulls from backup data. However, on flight 201, flipping it to the left puts both instruments on the captain's malfunctioning gyro. This probably caused the accident, but why?
