The Importance of Women in Rock and Roll

The Janice Martin song is an important signpost in the transition of rock and roll into a music specifically aimed at white teenagers. It was chosen because I wanted to show how women were always part of the story of rock and Roll. The podcast is going to be biased towards men, but where women did have the opportunity to break through, I want to give them credit. This is not including token women or anything like that. Rather it's saying women have always been part of thestory. Their part of the stories has been ignored. And I want to do what I can to redress the balance of it so long as I don't move into actively misrepresenting history.
