John hughes is the director who, more people have a serious relationship to his movies than any other person that has been making movies since then. Broderick never does anything this magnetic and this carismatic and this electric again. The greatest thing about him, other than all the movies he made, was, i don't know who his rival was. And everybody who tried to make a john hughes movie pretty much bombed, or did like the much eatier version of it.
