The Importance of Being a Cat

If we could genetically engineer a future version of ourselves, would there be any reason not to take the pill or genetically engineer ourselves so that we don't feel any loss when we discover there's no ultimate meaning because we don't care about it anymore? Or would that alteration somehow destroy something fundamental about our natures in that? We would be somehow diminished if we didn't feel this kind of sadness. So I'm sure you're not surprised that I find utilitarianism completely stupid and unattractive. And besides all the points that I care about because you could just sit around, you could take a drug and be happy. It's like the brain and the bad example actually. That is exactly what
