An Unconventional Approach to the Killing
Multiple theories arose around the identity of the killer, including that he was a taxi driver or teacher. A religious organization called the Christian Services Corporation launched radio and television appeals leading to the killer to turn himself in. The group received support and guidance from Dr. Sheldon Freud, who voiced his belief that the killer could not control his impulses.
