The Secret of Pass Keys

The way pass keys work is that there's no more passwords in that sense. When you create an account, it creates a public and a private key. And then the private key is stored on your device,. Only in your device, locked down behind biometric or password or pass coat. And the public key is stored at the server. Because te public key has no special information, it's no better than a user name. If somebody goes and steals it, it doesn't matter. Igets public information. But because your private key is only on your device, you don't know what it is - so it's much harder to socially engineer it from you.
