The Low Base Effect on Travel Insurance in India
For the year that ended in March 2022, just over 30 crore lives were covered by general and health insurers for domestic travel. For every 10 rupees collected as premium, only 3 was used to settle claims. Travel insurance also covers lost luggage, flight cancellations among other things. No amount of money can fill the aching void left by the deceased loved ones but insurance is always a must have.
