Labor has committed to spending at least two % of the g t p on defence. But in government, quite rightly, you and your colleagues would also have lots of other priorities such as climate change mitigation or post pandemic recovery. A we are in an insecure world. We do have a change. Are in the posture of china, an explicit change, where she jin ping will be going to the conference seeking additional terma. Those issues mean that in a more insecure world, you need to spend more money on national security. You need to do it in a way, though, that is strategic and produces outcomes. And that will be what we will do.
