Movie Review - Is This a Horror Movie?

i think it's mostly effective in kind of introducing the fact that these characters are in this psychologically vulnerable state and makes it more scary in a sense. Having that element of they're impaired a little bit keeps it horrifying but helps keep them locked in. i love the tension that sets up of it feels everything feels so on edge because it feels like at any moment in this movie the real devastating horror that is at the beginning can just like leak back through into this world. By not having that's resolved by the end she kind of lets go of that and is able to kind of accept a new family as evil and you know terrifying as this new family is.
