Deliberate Ignorance

We are, of course, our cognitive system in many situations, choose us not to know. In a way, you could even argue that's a default because there are so many pieces of information in the world. So per se, we are only selecting a certain set of information from the world is not unusual at all. That happens all the time. It's a premise on which our cognitive systems build. Otherwise, it wouldn't work. If we would always attend to all information in the World, we would become unable to respond and deal with the world.
