Wounding the World, How Military Violence and War Play Invade Our Lives is published by Birkbeck University of London. Author John A. Burke says military projects were conducted in UK universities from 2001 to 2006 with a value of £725 million. He also points out that Britain is the second-highest founder of military research and development in the world. The sounds of war are so familiar they hardly impinge upon our consciousness anymore.
