Epistemology, The Burden Of Knowledge And Open-Endedness with James B
Scaling Knowledge
Is Knowledge a Psychological Process?
The paper wrongly claims that knowledge can only be used in people's heads. In order for there to be an innovation, knowledge has to be inside someone's head so they can make some kind of connection between two pieces of knowledge in their head. They have to have that associative property, the ability to associate two new ideas in order to create something new and that doesn't happen. I feel like fundamentally for innovation and for creativity, knowledge does actually have to exist inside your mind. It's not subsumed by psychology but it's actually much more fundamental. This claim is based on a false widespread belief, the idea that knowledge is a psychological phenomenon.
