The Hope of Addiction

The pandemic softened that a little bit because for one summer there was no swimming and that they were kind of bringing it back. As I watched these characters struggle with how addiction had kind of altered the whole family and the larger community I really do believe that we can transcend our most painful family legacies. That just became kind of my true north as I was revising in the final stages like they're stuck, saying this is a rough summer but you know the aborigines burn their crops to regenerate growth.
