Can you say a few words on why that's so important and perhaps give an example of what you might do in a situation like your child is playing alone with blocks? Julie: I think even my son is like, I don't need compliments right now. So we have an exercise to help you describe what kids are going through when they're on the spectrum such that it's like a stranger coming into the house, making noise, asking questions. And if we don't remember that for a child who has sensory issues, all of that feels very overstimulating.
