I think the lesson really is that if we can de-center the human from some of our expectations of the world around us stop seeing humanity and particularly human intelligence as being both unique and higher or more special than all other ways of living in this world. Then we have vast amounts to learn about how to live with the earth and with other species in ways that are more sustainable. That really does involve treating everybody else we share this planet with with far more kind of care and respect than we do.
