Gun Owners Challenge New York's Gun Law
The plaintiffs in the Anton U case brought a sweeping challenge to the law. Judge Sutterby and his ruling enjoined 12 provisions in New York's law. The basis for the challenge is that in the Bruin case, the Supreme Court said that modern restrictions have to be analogous to historical laws. For example, even though it was constitutional to ban guns at playgrounds because of the presence of children, it was likely unconstitutional to ban them as zoos.
