City Gas Distributors Are in a Tough Spot Right Now
The government wants to double the share of natural gas and India's energy basket, from 6.7% today to 15% by 2030. Reliance is currently cranking out gas from Asia's deepest field called the KG-D6 block along the Bay of Bengal. Gas distributors could also lock themselves into long-term contracts with private gas fields in India, or even global producers.
