The Ignored Potential of Indigenous People and Christians in Latin American Revolutions

This chapter explores how communist parties in Latin America overlooked the unique characteristics of the region and the revolutionary potential of indigenous people and Christians. It highlights the changes in the Catholic Church and the emergence of liberation theology, as well as the Sandinistas' recruitment of young Christians. It also addresses the neglect of indigenous peoples by the left and the importance of considering their ethnocultural factor in their struggles for justice.
