What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?

It's possible that your ideal job hasn't been invented yet. I try to remind them that the great news is we're living in an age where you can do a succession of things. The choice of what do you want to be when you grow up as if your job is your entire identity seems constraining. And I worry that not just being asked the question, but the kind of culture that asked that question creates this false idea that there's one question.
