Risk Factors for Cervical Cancer
Most cervical cancer cases unfortunately are not in the United States they're not in developed countries. Women who aren't getting regular screenings most at risk for developing cervical cancer. Cigarette smoking is certainly one of the risk factors but also cooking using not the cleanest fuel sources and maybe cooking inside a home structure where there's not adequate ventilation so that's a big risk factor. In the lower resource countries women often don’t get that type of regular screening as well, she says.
