Some foods are better at spiking dopamine than others. Dopamine is the chemical that motivates us to do good things in our lives. If you smoke crack cocaine, it's going to be really hard to resist when that gets triggered. Some foods have specific chemical and physical properties that cause higher levels of dopamine to be released by the brain. These include plain carrot or plain lentils or nothing with nothing on it.
