There is no living memory of a global pandemic of this sort. But it's clear that humanity has survived several of these things over the centuries and each time something's changed permanently, something's kind of went back to normal. The last time this happened, Spanish flu, we didn't have antibiotics. What was then called the iron lung had not yet been invented, both were 1928. This time around, the entire pandemic effort is focused on antibiotics are a big part,. ventilators are a bigpart, neither existed in Spanish flu, but some of the things did exist in Spanish flu.
