It's hard people to understand that this has been coming for a while I remember 20 years ago or so there was a big symposium sent out by the National Review and it had all these religious liberty scholars conservative ones. In certain states if you were opposed to so-called gay marriage you were told in so many words that the only possible objection could be rooted in hate  and we just don't tolerate that sort of thing here.
