An Ambivently Attached Child

A pattern of attachment essentially says, I'm not sure whether my father will be able to meet my needs at least in any reliable way. So there is a flip-flop of the primacy of attunement. The relationship becomes primarily one in which the child is responding to the parents' needs rather than the reverse. An ambivently attached child learns that they need to attend to and be responsive to their mother's inner emotional state.
