Clair. And it is Casey Wilson. Wow, wow, wow. We are here. We are co-hosting each other's podcasts. And we're guests. We're everything. It's exciting. And we do have some special guests that are coming on that we'll announce in a few seconds. I think you guys will like them. We were lucky enough to get them. We'll
Speaker 3
ask for them to stay silent till we're done with our introduction. That's right. Nope. No. They don't
Speaker 4
shut the fuck up, do they?
Speaker 3
Jessica, why are we here? Why are we here, Jess? So Casey and I wrote an audio book called The Art of Small Talk. This was born out of an episode of The Deep Dive, which was one of our lifetime learners series where you came on. Lifelong dress. Lifelong. Did I say lifetime? Lifetime. There's June. Piping in. Sorry, I just got to correct it. Got to. Got to. Part of our lifelong learner series. And Casey came on as an expert in small talk, as I am also a self-appointed expert. And then we got the idea. Self-appointed masters. Right. We had such a wild response to it. People begging for more. Not really June begging for more necessarily, but from our listeners that we just thought, why not expand this? And boy, oh boy, did we think we had eight hours in us? No. Guys,
Speaker 1
we've written an audio book. It's not a real book because what no one's got time to read, although we did write it. And it's we're so excited about it. And please welcome our guests, you know, because we'd love accolades from them as well. Please welcome our guests, host of The Deep Dive, June Diane Raphael and host of Garbage World, Bitch Sesh and Garbage Sesh, Daniel Schneider. Thank you for having us.
Speaker 2
Welcome to your own
Speaker 4
podcast. I know it's like welcome to my house. Welcome to Blastfell. You know it's not different. It's not different from how I behave in all of your homes. Honestly never been to my house without first running straight to my fridge and grabbing herself a LaCroix. I go to June's snack closet. I go to
Speaker 3
Danielle's LaCroix that's in the garage. And I go to Casey's mini fridge because I know there's going to be something cold and bubbly.
Speaker 2
I will say what Casey is so good for is her like soda selection. Yeah. As Casey knows, there's an orange soda that I count on. Diet
Speaker 1
orange. There's a
Speaker 2
diet orange soda that I count on.
Speaker 1
And don't be thinking this is natural because it ain't. This is diet orange crush. All the good stuff. You're not finding this at Trader Joe's. Well, I will
Speaker 4
say I've been to Casey and June's house many times. You guys have invited me into your house and your lives. I couldn't tell you my way around Jessica St. Clair's house. I couldn't tell you. Couch,
Speaker 1
a store, a never been invited. Or if I have been invited, it's always canceled last minute. While I'm like driving over. Last time I was there, I think Bibi had just been
Speaker 2
born. She also has another establishment. She has the girl cottage, which she's sitting in right now, which is across the street from her home. And it implies like all the girls are coming over. I haven't been there one night. Anyone received an invite? I haven't. To a home that's like literally the title is like, it's for us.
Speaker 3
But it's a girl. It's not a girl. It's girl cottage. It's a girl.
Speaker 2
It's a girl cottage. Remember
Speaker 3
that Martina McBride song?
Speaker 1
Guys, listen, let's move on. I'm much more comfortable in other people's homes. Guys, enough chit-chat bullshit. This isn't about small talk with you guys, okay? This is about our audio book. The art of small
Speaker 2
talk. Is it hard? Now, let me just ask this. Is it hard to say the words, we wrote an audio book? I have to think about it time I hear
Speaker 1
it. It rolls trippingly off the tongue for me. We wrote an audio book. And not only wrote it, guess who our boss is, if I may? Malcolm Gladwell. Is this his
Speaker 4
company? Who he? Who
Speaker 1
he? And that wasn't a joke. I feel people at home are laughing. I just had to clarify that wasn't a joke. Malcolm Gladwell produced this audio book. He
Speaker 2
really did. I can feel the pushback. I'm not pushing back at all. I'm just saying audio, you know, it's just, it is a way in that I never, I, I'm glad to
Speaker 1
know is a possibility. I didn't
Speaker 2
know. I thought it was like you books became audio books. It's
Speaker 1
the same way with Dateline. You know, you watch them and that's how you're used to taking it in. But then you do the
Speaker 4
podcast and you're like, why was I watching? I will say I do not need to watch them. No, June has a different. June and I are really. Yeah, she has a different way. I don't want to see
Speaker 1
the poor women who are murdered.
Speaker 2
I'll tell you when you might like it. You listen first and you get that image in your mind. And then you go watch to see if it matches
Speaker 1
the image. It's like when someone takes their mask off during COVID, you're like, that's not what I thought Martha looked like before she departed Earth. Their chin is not what I
Speaker 3
thought it was going to be. There was a there was a mom during COVID who was so dour. Everything about her. And then I found out her job was to make sure that, oh God, she managed this gigantic office, like park. And her job was to make sure that the ducks got killed. She hired a falconer to, anyway, let's cut this part. No, I will say this is what
Speaker 4
this book is about. Here's small talk. Small talk. Here's your small talk, Jess. This
Speaker 2
is your small talk. Everything opens with, I know a mom whose job was to kill the ducks in a local park. And ends with hired a falconer. Yes, I know someone had to hire a falconer. It's like your small talk intros, I've seen it a number of times, are wild. You know, what our book is
Speaker 1
about is so many people hate small talk. They're fearful of it, you know, much like it seems like you two. Jess and I, you know, as masters, and this was born out of our not being able to really do it during the pandemic. But what we've learned and what we will teach in our book, and this is a how-to and self-development. Please know that. It is how-to. But Jess, we all have different styles. Jess likes to go from one to 100 and you might not follow it. You might not know what's being said, but you're laughing and you're loving and you're along for the ride. And that's fun, you know? I go pretty
