The Comet Needs a Name

Allan Hale discovered comet hale in the arizona desert. Amateur astronomer thomas bott also observed the same fuzzy glow. They were within five minutes of each other, and we've compared notes. Like any new discovery, the comet needed a name. It is a long standing tradition among astronomers that goes back over two centuries that comets are named for the people who discover them.
