The Importance of Meditation
Lucretius wanted to write something that people could remember so they could think about it and know how to live. Plato never writes declaratively because he's difficult about making straightforward assertions, but there is much more going on in his writings than just the arguments. And part of what's going on is we are being shown something that is crucial in many of the dialogues that is showing us something as opposed to saying it.
