The Graphic Novel: A Journey Through the Mediterranean

Many of the people on the boats were children and unaccompanied writers, but we decided it was a story that we really needed to tell. We did realize that many of the kids who would be arriving in Ireland and England and Italy would not have English as a first language. To have this graphic novel would be a way for them to communicate to their classmates, perhaps, their journey, they had taken. And also we decided that the graphic novel becomes very immediate,. Young people who might not watch the news reports, or even maybe read a lengthy novel would be prepared to have a look at a graphic novel like an adventure story.
