Stoicism involves a kind of mindfulness practice called prasochi. It just means paying attention to your thoughts. When you're getting angry or upset, notice it as early as you can. That will often liberate you from the cycle of negative emotions. People were attracted to stoicism because kind of a therapy and plus it in that.
Elliot Chung, a student at Phillips Academy Andover, interviewed me recently for his new Philosophy for the Modern Mind podcast, and we decided to share our conversation on this podcast as well. We talk in particular about how Stoicism could be of practical benefit to young people, and the challenges they face today.
