Do You Still Think We Have Long Timelines?

There were a few questions at the end here for people who still think we have long timelines to get to where we got to worry. Why won't the next obvious steps provide much improvement? And why do we still need several decades of advancement? How do we know that the currently available compute is not enough? So yeah, please tell us the answers to those things.
