Architecture - Is There a Need for a Dialogue?

The architect has been criticised for his work on the government's modernization plan. He says that he doesn't know what is being proposed and would probably think differently if he had a better understanding of the landscape. The people respond to architecture very emotionally, so perhaps there isn't enough dialogue between architects and public in these big projects. But we must also keep in mind that we live in very polarized times,. And i understand that often the criticism comes because of this extreme polarization.
