The Importance of Understanding Failure

You have spent quite a bit of time doing R&D work. Do you think of yourself specifically as an R&D engineer or just generally as an engineer? And also what do you think distinguishes the two? Sure. The R&D to me requires embracing ambiguity and understanding that failure is a part of the process, whereas I think maybe engineering more broadly, that's less accepted and, you know, expected even.
