Relationships With Objects Aren't as Deep as They Used to Be
The human brain is a little bit like this. It evolved over hundreds of millions of years. Objects do not need to look or sound very much like people, for your brain to start processing and thinking about them as if they were people. I don't believe that at least in the foreseeable future, our relationships with objects will ever truly be as rich or as deep as the kind of relationships we can have with other people. These kinds of relationships with anthropomorphic machines are going to be very, very easy.
