What Would Happen if the North and South Pole Reversed?
Efa asks what would it mean for the planet if the north and south pole suddenly reversed. John: "It could be very bad for humanity, actually" But birds probably won't fly the wrong direction - they know landmarks as well as being able to sense magnetic fields. And we've seen that when these magnetic pole reversals happen, they are not accompanied by increases in the normal rate of extinct species.
