The Advantages of Not Going Through Probate

My parents were recently advised to name my sister and me as beneficiaries on their home so that it would not go through probate when they pass. Wouldn't it be easier to just write this into a will, which they do not yet have? Carrie, there are actually advantages with a home to not have it pass through a will and carrye. But i would like them to not make this decision in isolation, just about the home. This is a circumstance where seeing a lawyer who would he or she does full time as wills, estates and trusts, would be a good thing to do.
