What's the Dollar Value of a Life That You Save?

I would imagine it's difficult to derive optimum policy, because even from a utilitarian perspective, if you don't have the value of life, you can't really do much about that. So we could run some scenarios and look at what that implies for the system, right? And then let the public determine what the right policy is. No, that's exactly right. For any reasonable values of statistical lives, like what say Pete Clino would say is a reasonable number, you would want to intervene quite heavily in terms of lockdowns. Even without the lockdown policy, the economy suffers quite heavy losses.
