The Lifetime Value of the Superhuman
If humans are better we have a better chance of surviving when AGI comes along. Some of my friends think that the humans that make the breakthrough on AGI will be the genetically engineered. I'd still vote for that future if I had a choice over. Because, you know, even if they're different from us, they're still also very like us. And that might even be true for AGIs because the training data for AGIs will be human literature and human Internet and human activities.
