The Death of a Substitute Victim

Joseph Murray survived being run over twice and was now in the hospital. Michael Malloy returned, not from the other side, but from Fordham Hospital. The reason Red Murphy hadn't been able to locate him was that he was asking about the fictional Nicholas Mallory, not the actual Michael Malloy. Mike had found the fake ID card with the name Nicholas Mallory in his pocket, but he had no idea how it got there.
