Is a Bone Marrow Biopsy Needed for CLL?

The diagnosis is made by using a test on peripheral blood, which is called flow cytometry. The pattern will tell us if this condition is consistent with CLL. And the answer to the bone marrow biopsy is no. Most of the time, those are not necessary.
