The Ideological Trap of American Exceptionalism
A lot of older, especially Communist Party scholars, write about that. They harken back to the developmental myth of the US as being a progressive revolution. And I think it's if we look at the historical fact, we can see that that is just not an correct reading. So I guess my response to it would be, well, we have to always be committed to the truth in our principles.
